One of my favorite professors from UofL asked me to send him an image of this project from Drawing 1 (which was 4 years ago now because I’m getting really old) and I recently found out that the maps and government docs department at the library I work at (which is literally separarated from my department by two book shelves) will scan anything for anyone with their giant large format scanner. As some of you may remember from my time at UofL I love finding out that I have access to insanely nice scanning equipment, so I brought in this drawing and a few paintings to get really crazy huge scans of today. Here’s the scan resized to 2% of its actual size.
as the semester I went absolutely insane making like 400 interactive wire frames (they’re required for my Web Programming, Digital Entrepreneurship, and Information Architecture classes)
Today I made this one for my IA redesign of this site
and this one for my Database Design final’s Java-based web interface (that I’m making for my Web Programming final)

Glitched Brush Strokes 1
The Glitched Brush Strokes series is about finding new ways to experience an old medium. I start by creating individual brush strokes on paper with acrylic paint, then I cut them out and collage them together in different ways (notice that some of these pieces use the same brush strokes) and use a program to glitch the images, blending together the different colors and breaking up the lines and shadows that separate the physical forms of the brush strokes. The resulting image is part painting, part drawing, part collage, and part digital construction.

Anonymous asked: are you in grad school? if so, what for?
Yeah, I started grad school in the Fall, I’m getting a Master’s of Information Science and a Master’s of Library Science from Indiana University (my Bachelor’s degrees were in Fine Art and Ancient Cultural Humanities from the University of Louisville)
I think after I finish up here in Spring 2014 I’ll probably apply for PhD programs in Information Science (in Semantic Web, Information Architecture, or something programming related)
Why does anyone tolerate me?

If you guys are artists and want me/the other people who see this post to check out your work, just comment with your portfolio/blog’s url and I/we will check out your work, I’ve found some really impressive artists on tumblr this way, I’d love to see your stuff.
My bff Robert Grand has been making more prints than I have lately, and to celebrate his printmaking prowess I thought I would show you guys our very first collaboration, this is from 2011 I think, it’s an etching on copper (1x1 inches)
Check out Robert’s work here
