Old print of the day #2.
This is a really process heavy etching that I used all kinds of different stuff to texture before etching (the majority of the marks are from scratching into a layer of mastic that served as the resist in the first etch)
I’m working on a new version of my website so I’m rounding up some old prints, I figured I’d put them here. (mostly so I don’t have to keep them on my own server. Thanks Tumblr!)
This was my first (and only) 3 plate print. It was supposed to be based off of a Frankenthaler painting but I printed the last plate upside down. I like it better this way anyway haha
so strap yourself in and get ready for some gratuitous animations.

using the phrase “secret sauce” at least once in each conversation.
The chapter I’m editing just used it and I realized that, no matter what situation it’s used in, “secret sauce” is always funny.
Pastel Glitchxperiment number whatever plus a number
Another Sam Gilliam esque glitchxperiment
Pastel on paper scanned, glitched, edited, and glitched, then edited a lot more
These are starting to take on a Sam Gilliam kinda feel.
Pastel drawings scanned, cropped, glitched, edited, glitched, edited, etc.
Clinton’s all natural super fun time update: only 1 out of every 556 people who follow this blog have liked me on facebook. That makes it a pretty exclusive club you should probably check out because they probably have pretty good food and crazy parties and lots of cute chicks.
When I say “This looks tacky/awful” I don’t mean that I am in some way ashamed of or unhappy with the image. I forget sometimes that some of my followers don’t know my attitude toward my work which is that I’m pretty much 99% experimenter and 1% “artist”
My work is about finding new aesthetic experiences, not about creating “good art.” I feel like the act of experiencing a new sensation or finding a new way of manipulating colors, shapes, and textures is a lot more important than being able to crank out successful finished works
I hope none of you think I have some kind of negative view of my work—the critiques I make of them are no more serious than I am about myself or my art. As long as I’m making new things and sharing them with people, I couldn’t be happier with what I’m doing. (and for the record, I love tacky/awful things and I’m pretty happy with the glitch stuff I’ve been doing over the past few days)
This one is borderline tacky/awful which I love.
I need to move my work in a more tacky/awful direction.
Glitchxperiment number whatever + 1
Pastel on paper glitched and edited
I’m putting up all of my glitch experiments in albums on my facebook page if you’d like to go see more of them (and higher quality versions) and feel free to like my page or chat me up there if you like
Another glitch experiment with pastel drawings. I think eventually these could get really good.
